Get ready to create a better life, starting now.
Not getting enough sleep can impair decision-making and memory, and it can lead to health problems. Hypnosis may improve the amount of deep sleep you get by as much as 80%. Deep sleep helps you wake up feeling refreshed each day.
A 2010 study found that hypnosis was effective for inducing and increasing slow-wave REM sleep. In the study, subjects who listened to short sleep hypnosis tape prior to taking a nap achieved 80 percent more slow-wave sleep.
Relieve Anxiety or Depression
A 2010 review of research showed six studies that suggested hypnosis helped with anxiety. Furthermore, a 2009 meta-analysis also found that hypnosis was significantly effective for treating depression.
A person can use hypnotherapy in addition to other treatments for depression and anxiety. Hypnosis can enhance an overall sense of well-being, lift mood, and boost feelings of hopefulness.
According to the University of New Hampshire, hypnotherapy can help a person learn to reduce and/or better control feelings of anxiety, stress, and sadness. Hypnotherapy is also used to treat negative behaviours that could be worsening a person’s depression.
Tobacco kills more than 8 million people each year. Don't become a statistic. Are you ready to quit and take back control of your health and life?
A 2008 randomised trial found that smokers who underwent hypnosis were more likely to quit and stay quit than those who received counselling and nicotine replacement therapy. A study in 1994 found that 80% of participants who underwent hypnosis and aversion therapy abstained from smoking after 6 months.
A 1986 study examined how well group hypnosis worked for weight loss. The group that underwent hypnosis lost 8 kilograms, while the non-hypnotised group lost .2 kilograms.
Making healthier food choices and exercising are key components for weight loss, but in some cases, successful weight loss also requires getting rid of the emotional and subconscious factors that prevent us from losing weight or contribute to us putting weight on. The use of hypnosis for weight loss requires a different approach than when used for other conditions—it usually takes several sessions rather than just one to determine the individual’s personal triggers. Weight loss takes time and effort to be successful. People should seek professional advice on diet, exercise and lifestyle changes and individual results may vary.
Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Mike Tyson are just a few well-known professional athletes that have turned to hypnosis to help with their athletic performance.
Athletes have long used hypnosis to eliminate negative thoughts, de-stress and relax the mind and body, and help with focus and concentration so they can “be in the zone.” This mental training can increase confidence, consistency, and ability, and it applies to all levels of athletes, including those recovering from injury and those just learning a sport.
Ease Pain & Recovery Quicker
Pain is a signal that is helpful but in the case of chronic pain, the nervous system may still be relaying the pain signal even after the body has healed. The mind can also influence the level of pain one experiences. Hypnotherapy can assist.
Hypnotherapy can also be used post-surgery to shorten recovery time and in some cases, reduce the amount of pain medication required.
Manage Grief & Loss
Whether you are dealing with a national tragedy or the loss of a loved one through death, distance or a relationship break up, the feeling of loss can be debilitating, causing anxiety, insomnia, and depression.
Hypnotherapy can help by providing positive suggestions to help cope with the symptoms of grieving and help with finding ways of dealing with loss as time passes.
Use the mind-body link to quit addictions and unwanted habits including nail biting. Hypnotherapy can give you heightened focus and concentration, making it easier to help you regain control. It can help you to reduce or eliminate cravings, encourage positive changes in behaviour and reframe how a person perceives their habit.
A study of methadone patients found that those who received hypnosis were much more likely to stay drug-free. Of those receiving hypnosis, 94 percent were narcotic-free at 6 months.
Enhance your Sex Life
Hypnotherapy can enhance your sex life by addressing mental and emotional barriers that may be inhibiting intimacy and pleasure.
Hypnosis can help you if you are suffering from aversions, fears or issues related to your sex life including low libido, erectile dysfunction, intimacy issues, premature ejaculation, inability to orgasm with a partner, and sexual disorders.
Ease Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Hypnosis has been shown in studies to be an effective treatment for IBS. Hypnotherapy uses relaxation techniques followed by hypnotic suggestions to help patients learn to control their symptoms. The results of the studies showed that patients experienced improvement in their quality of life and in the common symptoms of abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and bloating.
In one study, people reported that IBS symptoms including constipation, diarrhoea, gas and bloating improved after three months of hypnotherapy and this improvement lasted for at least nine months. A 2015 study found that 76% of refractory irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) Patients reported a decrease in the severity of IBS symptoms after three months of hypnotherapy.
Assist with pregnancy, childbirth and post-partum recovery
Hypnotherapy uses deep relaxation and the power of suggestion to tap into the part of your mind that is responsible for bodily functions (your heart rate, hormone production, and digestive system, as well as your emotions) and help you cope with fear and anxiety related to pregnancy and childbirth (including cesarean section).
Hypnosis can also be effective in helping to hold off premature labour or turn a breech baby, and reduce the need for pharmacological interventions during childbirth. It can also assist with post-partum physical and mental recovery.
Assist with 'Unexplained Infertility'
Hypnotherapy can assist with 'unexplained infertility’ by helping both women and men feel calmer, relaxed and more in control, and therefore reducing stress and anxiety.
Stress is detrimental to fertility because it can delay the release of eggs and prevent the implantation of fertilised eggs, and the ‘flight or fight’ response channels blood away from the reproductive organs. It also has a negative effect on hormones: boosting levels of fertility-inhibiting prolactin and reducing levels of progesterone, which is essential for building and maintaining the uterine lining.
Research has shown that hypnotherapy is a very effective aid not only to natural conception but also when used in conjunction with IVF. An Israeli study of 185 women showed that the success rate of IVF treatments doubled from 14% to 28% when the subjects underwent hypnosis during implantation.
Overcome Fears & Phobias
Hypnosis can be extremely effective to reduce or eliminate fears (including motion sickness) and phobias.
Hypnotherapy assists with detaching the stimulus (trigger object) from the emotional response (fear) and re-programming the subconscious mind with a new, more realistic response.
Ease Menopause Symptoms
Hypnosis is a proven effective treatment for menopause-related hot flashes and night sweats.
Research shows that hypnotherapy reduced hot flashes by as much as 74% in a study conducted by researchers at Baylor University's Mind-Body Medicine Research Laboratory.
Got a job interview you're worried about, another first date you're dreading as your nerves will get in the way (again), an exam you know you will fail because you panic, a performance that will be hindered by stage fright, a presentation at work that you will stumble through, like all the others?
Hypnotherapy can boost your confidence and self-esteem by releasing limiting beliefs and installing more positive, confident ones into your subconscious mind.
Create the Life you Want
Hypnotherapy can assist generally with your journey to find inner peace, find balance, find calm.... to find yourself. It can empower, motivate and focus you. It helps you clearly visualise, easily imagine and ultimately work towards creating the life you want to live.
